Introducing the Company
Below is a letter from Rod Usher (Managing Director) giving you a feel of what we are about:
Dear customers and potential customers
CSG (Usher’s) prides itself on being a family tree-work business. I have always ensured that I know every member of staff, and that they know each other, irrespective of their duties.
Several team members have worked with the company for over ten years, progressing from operational duties to higher management roles. We believe that this philosophy has helped the company grow to its current size.
After leaving St. Andrews University with an Honours Degree in Moral Philosophy and Political Economy, I have devoted my working life to the service of trees. I was initially employed for several years as Forester to Lord Dundee on his Tayside estate in Birkhill, and continued my career as a forestry contractor for the Scottish Woodland Owners Association.
In 1985, I decided to come to London and start up a tree surgery business. Since that time, the company has developed in different ways but has remained faithful to its core beliefs, which are to provide high-quality, cost-effective tree-work, and first-rate professional advice.
We worked through the last phases of the Dutch Elm Disease (a horror story!). We battled through the October Hurricane of 1987. We have survived several other significant storms since then and are still going strong.
Today, CSG (Usher’s) works for a wide variety of clients from domestic customers through to housing associations, the canal network, and local authorities. We cover the M25 area and have recently extended our market north and east, covering Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Essex. We are always looking for opportunities to assist new customers with tree-work.
I hope you find our website useful. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information.
